A cure for our ranking the greatness of US cities' density, skylines?

Is there a cure for the way we put US cities into some sort of rank order for their skyline, density, urbanity.....for us seeing something ultimate about their status, our inability to realize that "things change"?

May I suggest viewing the "What will your city look like in 7-10 years? " thread on the City Talk and Urban Issues subforum.

While develolpment is going on in cities throughout the world, some of the most dramatic changes are happening in s.e. Asia and the Middle East. Even cities in places like South America and Australia are booming.

For me, this means....enjoy US cities for what they are, not how they stack up ....with each other or with global cities. Why? It's a losing game. No city has a monopoly on ascendency in a growing and changing world. And when it comes to blowing your mind away with their skylines, there will be a number of global cities that will probably exceed US cities like New York and Chicago in the process.

There will be no "ultimate city" out there in the 21st century....instead, a great number on all continents that will take our breath away. Enjoy each on its own terms.>
