What is the general consensus regarding KC and SSC like? How would you rate this city? Is it a ghetto? Is it another beautiful American city? What makes KC great? Is it's skyline impressive, or unimpressive, etc, etc. Can you say smog? Well planned "Uptown" district to the side of downtown. Skyline is somewhat small for its size, but very dense. Denser than average. I'm loving the architecture though. An important sign of how great a city is: a symbol. For NYC it could be the WTC or Lady Liberty. For KC, it's Union Station. A bustling entertainment district is a must for a city to be ranked highly by me, for example, OKC & Bricktown. Kansas City is known for jazz music, and particularly, jazz music that comes from the 18th & Vine Jazz District hotbed. A top ranked city, IMO, needs to have it's share of new urbanism. I don't care where it is. Suburbs, downtown, uptown, it's all the same to me. But somewhere, and I don't care where, there needs to be a classic example of new urbanism. KC's Zona Rosa is a spectacular example of a shopping center built in new urbanism style. > |
