is there something to do in phoenix?

well i posted this question on the west coast forum but since noone answer lets posted here. i am planning a trip to phoenix and i wanted to see how exactly is it? any thoughts oh btw i am planning this trip on august. my guessing is that is provably really hot. but how does the temperature feel does it feel the same as miami or worst?>
