How uniquely "insanely partisan" are US cities?

How uniquely "insanely partisan" are US cities?

I ask this question in all seriousness. are Americans unique in the way we elevate our own cities, bash the competiton, and believe that our cities truly come in some devinely inspired rank order (actually insanely inspired rank order)?

Are Europeans, Asians, and others subject to the same hate fests over their cities that happen with our cities here? Is the need to be the best, the most, the greatest, the ultimate an American need more than a universal need?

Would a Parisian really list all the attributes of the city of light to show how it blows London out of the water....or would he be embarassed to do so and recognizes that London is a truly great city?

and finally: IS THERE A REAL, OFFICAL, UNDISPUTED LIST (WITH NO DEGREE OF ERROR) THAT WOULD END THE INSANITY BY SAYING: THIS IS IT. YOU CAN NOT ARGUE WITH IT. GOD APPROVES OF IT.

not that I'm bragging mind you, but Chicago's 34,298,281,482,987,634,088,210 business transactions (34,298,281,482,987,634,088,882 in leap years) every year in the downtown area exceeds all other US cities, making the wind city the obvious #1 in the nation. I would like to request that nobody discuss this ranking further as it is offical and will not change.>
